1 KG fish
Cut into pieces and marinated for at least 3 hours.
(Marinate in 1 teaspoon salt, juice of one lemon, one teaspoon red chilli powder and a dash of white vinegar)
2 onions chopped.
2 tomatoes chopped.
1 capsicum chopped.
2 to 3 red chillies
I teaspoon ginger garlic paste
1 teaspoon red chilli powder
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
Salt to taste
1 1/2 cup heavy coconut milk
1 cup light coconut milk
Juice of half lemon
Heat oil in a shallow pan and half fry the fish pieces to harden them and to prevent them from breaking.
Once cooked remove and drain on a kitchen towel.
In a cooking pan, add about 3 tablespoons oil.
Fry the onion until light golden.
Next add the ginger and garlic paste and cook for a few seconds until fragrant.
Add the tomatoes, capsicum, green chilli, salt, red chilli powder,ginger garlic paste and turmeric powder
Let this simmer for 2 to 3 minutes.
Add the light coconut milk and stir to combine all the ingredients well.
Keep stirring continuously until it starts simmering.
When the mixture begins to simmer, add the fried fish, heavy coconut milk, lemon juice and cook until the fish is well done and the sauce has thickened. Garnish with chopped coriander.
Serve with rice.
